Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
While growing up, Dr. Kandov’s grandmother was an Otolaryngologist, which is the fancy term for an ear, nose, and
throat doctor. Her childhood years involved being around a lot of doctors (including dentists) who came over to her
house and had very passionate exchanges of ideas that often led to heated debates. Her grandmother would always joke
“two dentists – three opinions!”
While Dr. Kandov knew she wanted to become a doctor early on, it wasn’t until she was introduced to several studies
about implant dentistry and full mouth restorations during one of those heated debates at her grandmother’s that the
dental field sparked her interest. She found the topic fascinating and shadowed several dentists who provided those
services, quickly falling in love. Her path was determined at that point, and she couldn’t be happier about where she
is now!
