How Do All-On-4 Implants Work?

All-on-4 procedures utilize the thickest part of your jawbone to help you easily get maximum support for your smile. Using a 3D Cone Bean Scanner, your implant dentist Dr. Olga will capture high-resolution images that create a 3D model of your mouth and oral structures. This advanced technology allows her to see exactly where the strongest parts of your jawbone are and precisely plan where to place your dental implants for the most successful results. Depending on the density of your jawbone and a few other factors, she may suggest:

All-On-4 Implants

In some cases, we may be able to anchor a full denture with just four strategically placed dental implants! Two of the implants are placed toward the back of the mouth and angled at 45 degrees while the other two are surgically placed toward the front of the mouth, creating a solid, durable foundation.

All-On-6 Implants

With All-On-6, you will receive six dental implants, all of which will serve as anchors for your custom-made denture. All-On-6 dental implants are a great solution for individuals with missing teeth along the upper or lower arch.

All-On-8 Implants

All-On-8 dental implants are designed to replace missing teeth on the lower or upper arch of the mouth. It is often most recommended for individuals who have the least amount of bone density and require more implants to create a stronger, more stable smile.

Am I A Candidate for All-On-4 Implants?

All-On-4 dental implants, All-On-6 dental implants, and All-On-8 dental implants are a popular choice among patients with missing teeth because they typically bypass the need for a bone graft. If you are missing most or all of your teeth along the top or bottom row of your mouth, you may likely be an eligible candidate for All-On-4 dental implants. However, it is necessary that you have good oral health, in general, before moving forward with treatment. This means your gums are healthy and free of any disease, you do not have a compromised immune system, and you avoid poor lifestyle habits. If you smoke or drink alcohol excessively, these could compromise your smile and cause your dental implants to fail.

Dr. Kandov will ask you questions and review your medical history before deciding as to whether you are an eligible candidate for this type of dental implant treatment.

What Are the Benefits of All-On-4 Implants?

With All-On-4, you will experience a wide array of outstanding benefits, all of which lead to life-changing results. Some of these benefits include:

All-On-4 vs. Traditional Dental Implants

A traditional implant denture requires anywhere from 6-8 dental implants or more. Patients who qualify for this type of procedure either have a strong jawbone to start or they must undergo a bone graft or sinus lift to add bone minerals to weakened areas. This not only incurs an additional cost, but it also requires patients to spend several months recovering from the bone graft before they can move forward with dental implants.

With All-On-4, All-On-6, or All-On-8, additional procedures to strengthen the jawbone are not required. Dr. Kandov will determine where the denser areas of your jawbone are during the planning phase, ensuring your implants are placed in parts of your jawbone that are stronger and will provide an excellent base for your custom-made denture.

You will also receive a temporary denture the same day as your All-On-4 implant placement, allowing you to feel more confident when leaving our dental office.
